TAMPICO.- Next Saturday, May 29, the Health Center will hold a conference at its facilities with the purpose of detecting or ruling out breast and cervical cancer, as well as preventing deaths from this cause; The event will take place from 8 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon in the Del Pueblo neighborhood.
The foregoing was reported by Pilar Camacho, councilor of the Buenos Aires commune, a member of the Health Commission, who indicated that the Tampico Health Center will carry out a Health Day for women, therefore urging them to attend and take care of your health.
Asked about how many cases of breast and cervical cancer they have detected this year, she replied: “I have detected 4 or 5 people in 15 days, some young and the last one as 70 years old, and the one under 25 years old. ”.
For this reason, he urged the female population to come next Saturday, May 29, from 8 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon to have a medical check-up, and schedule your appointment for a mammogram.
“It consists of the cervical cytology test for women between 25 and 34 years of age, and the HPV test for women between 35 and 64 years of age, and also for women to go because many times they are not explored, the breast examination will be carried out in a female population between 25 and 39 years of age ”.
In addition, he pointed out that they will be scheduling appointments for the mammogram in the Health Center, where they will ask for their information to talk to them because they will be done at the General Hospital “Dr. Carlos Canseco ”.
He said that the objective is for citizens to raise awareness of taking care of their health, and that these services are completely free, so they ask women to get checked.
“Unfortunately we see that health problems are increasing because people are putting aside being aware of their health because they have to take care of their husband and children, and when it is detected it is advanced. And I have met women who tell me I prefer not to know, if I have felt pangs and this festers, but if I am sick I do not want to know.
The councilor asked for the help of the husbands and children to encourage them to go to a medical check-up.
She said that there are times when our body gives signals, the red lights come on with some symptoms and they are not attended to, they go when it is too late, so she asked the women to approach her and she channels them either to the Center of Salud de Tampico or UNEME-DEDICAM.
