In a column published on January 5 in L’Express, 200 general practitioners, some of whom practice in Occitania, jointly sign a column to free up medical time, in a context of crisis for health professionals.
Certificates of absence from a sick child, short breaks in work, medical prescriptions for transport… in a column published on January 5, 2023 on the website ofTo express200 general practitioners, of which about ten are practicing in Occitania, ask to be relieved of “useless, stupid or offensive” acts that affect their activity.
They are asking for a “saving shock of simplification” in a context of lack of carers and lack of professionals, “six million French people do not have a doctor”, Emmanuel Macron recalled on Friday on the occasion of his promises in the world of health.
Nurses, paramedics, pharmacists are also concerned
Mentioned first, the absence certificates of a sick child could, according to the signatories, be avoided provided they had “confidence in the parents’ statements”. The same applies to short-term work suspension certificates, when “an employee must be absent due to daily medical danger”, be it painful periods or temporary fever.
Furthermore, medical prescriptions for transport, prescriptions for nursing care and prescriptions for medical beds could, again according to the signatories, be provided by “other health professionals”, in this case paramedics, nurses, pharmacists.
Often questioned and even listed, “unjustified sports certificates”.
Finally, doctors question the certificates of private insurers, which ask doctors to declare their patient’s medical history, for the maintenance of rights and in particular of remuneration in the event of prolonged absence from work.
