Today, Sunday, Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting with Major General Doctor Baha El Din Zidan, Chairman of the Unified Purchase Authority, and Dr. Tamer Essam, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, to determine the availability of medicines and medical supplies coinciding with the start of the second wave of the emerging corona virus.
This came in the presence of Dr. Olfat Ghorab, President of the Arab Company for Medicinal Industries and Medical Supplies (Academia), Dr. Ahmed El-Ezaby, President of the Drug Industry Chamber, and a number of members of the Drug Industry Chamber, Major General Wael Al-Sai, Assistant Minister for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Sahar Farag, Head of the Central Administration for Pharmacy Affairs.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the ministry, explained that during the meeting, the strategic stock of medicines and medical supplies was reviewed to provide all needs at the local level, especially medicines for the treatment protocol for the emerging corona virus, emergency medicines, and medical and preventive supplies.
Mujahid added that the minister emphasized the importance of providing medicines and medical supplies that Egypt provides to brothers in various countries to support them in facing crises, in accordance with the directives of the political leadership in this regard.
