The “Doctors for Tomorrow” collective, already at the origin of the strike on 1and and on December 2, he had called on liberal doctors to close the cabinets from Monday 26 and until 1and January… and now until 8 January.
“We expected it. Unfortunately, the government has not deigned to pay attention to us despite this first week of the strike, writes the collective. On the contrary, we have even been unfairly reprimanded by our minister. It is with great regret and bitterness that we are officially calling for a second week of strike by liberal doctors in France: from 2 to 8 January 2023 inclusive. We hope that this time we are heard…”
A demonstration scheduled for January 5th
This “tough strike” comes as emergency services deal with a triple outbreak of flu, Covid-19 and bronchiolitis.
“Thanks to all the patients who support us, we have a lot of positive feedback from you and it really warms our hearts, underlines Doctors for tomorrow. Because it’s not with the lightness of the heart that we close our closets, believe us. »
The main request of the doctors on strike is the doubling of the basic price of consultations and visits. Currently 25 euros, they want to see it rise to 50 euros. Liberal doctors believe that increasing the price of the consultation would make it possible to compensate for extended weekly working hours and an overload of additional administrative tasks.
The strikers are also calling for an increase in resources in medical deserts as well as the abolition of the mandatory fourth year of general practice practice, which would aim to send young doctors to areas with few practitioners. The latter measure was included in the draft law on the financing of social security.
Several unions including the SML extensionthe FM extension and theUFMLShe also called a strike during the end of the year holidays, with similar requests.
Doctors for Tomorrow is planning a big rally on January 5 in Paris.
