Health source: We are waiting for “one approval” to start vaccination with the Corona vaccine

An official source at the Ministry of Health and Population said that the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona is awaiting approval from the Egyptian Drug Authority for the Chinese “Sinopharm” vaccine. To start vaccination with priority groups.

Egypt had received the first shipment of the emerging corona virus vaccine, which was developed by the Chinese National Medicines Group “Sinopharma” at the end of last week.

The Ministry of Health stated at the time that the vaccine, which is administered in two doses with an interval of 21 days, will be free of charge, and the government gives priority to medical staff and people with chronic diseases.

The responsible source at the ministry returned to confirm that the ministry is currently preparing to start vaccinating medical teams in isolation hospitals with the vaccine, provided that a website will be launched to register the priority groups for vaccination during the next few days.

He said, “We have received a shipment of vaccine and we are waiting for new shipments to come … What we are waiting for is the approval of the Medicines Authority for the emergency use of the vaccine in Egypt to start vaccination locally.”
