In view of the current epidemiological situation, which shows an upward trend in the incidence rate of SARS-CoV-2 disease in recent weeks in all age groups, and following the guidelines set by the Public Health Commission, the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System and the Ministry of Health itself, the Healthcare Management of Soria has planned a strategy to avoid the deterioration of the epidemiological or health situation in the province, especially with a view to the risks inherent in winter, to the Christmas holidays and to the possible coexistence and coincidence of Covid-19 with other viruses such as the flu.
In addition to completing the vaccination with third doses to people over 69 years of age and concluding the administration of a booster dose to all people who received a dose of Janssen vaccine, a booster dose with mRNA vaccine will be administered to health and social health professionals and to the age group of the general population from 60 to 69 years old.
What vaccine?
This booster dose will be administered 6 months after the last dose of mRNA vaccine. If you have received one dose of Janssen vaccine or two doses of AstraZeneca, the booster dose can be given after 3 months.
Any mRNA vaccine can be used to administer the booster dose, regardless of the vaccine used in the primary vaccination.
The intention of the Management of Soria is that health, social and health care and people over 60 are inoculated with the third dose before December 15. Enrique Delgado, manager of the Soria Management, stressed that “the rush is given for these people to get immunity before the Christmas celebrations, since it takes about 10 days to do so.”
Health personnel
Soria has 2,150 health professionals from Sacyl. 550 work in Primary Care and 1,600 in Hospital Care. Hospital Care professionals will receive the souvenir dose in the Santa Bárbara consultation area from 09:00 to 15:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Those in Primary Care will receive this vaccine at their health center.
Yolanda de Gregorio has clarified that the list of external health professionals, those who do not belong to Sacyl, has been requested to coordinate their vaccination and proceed to call them through summons campaigns.
Sociosanitary
The Integrated Management of Soria has also requested the complete list of people who belong to this group. When it is available, it will be vaccinated “in the centers themselves for professionals who carry out their work in the capital and in health centers for those in rural areas.”
Over 60 years
11,000 people approximately belong to this group in the province of Soria. It is going to proceed to its appeal “by time slots and according to the year of birth”, has indicated the territorial delegate of the Board.
