Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, ordered to increase the number of medical teams working in emergency departments in all hospitals, to ensure the provision of the best medical services to frequent patients, as part of the strategy of the ministry to improve the public health of citizens.
He did so during the weekly meeting of the minister, today, Monday, with the heads of the ministry and the heads of the agencies, and with the participation of all the undersecretaries of the ministry in the governorates through “videoconferencing” technology, to follow the progress of the work in the various files of the ministry, and to identify the challenges and obstacles and work to overcome them, to ensure the continuation of the provision of the best medical services for patients.
During the meeting, the Minister underlined the need to intensify periodic traffic on medical facilities to follow the workflow in all its departments, especially the emergency departments, in order to identify problems and challenges and work to resolve them. directed by increasing the number of medical teams working in the Emergency Departments of all hospitals, intensifying the training courses provided to them, increasing their efficiency to guarantee the best medical service to patients.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said the meeting discussed the developments of the work within the “Tele Medicine” telemedicine system, where 21,741 cases have been discussed since the start of the system until the beginning of November.
Abdel Ghaffar recalled that the initiative for the early diagnosis of liver tumors and the national program for the treatment of AIDS and tuberculosis have been included in the remote medical diagnosis system, as well as the completion of the connection of the network of medical councils specialists with the system of remote medical consultations, and the system is expected to be operational in the next period, citing the work to start training courses for Upper Egyptian doctors in the specializations of liver and pancreas surgery and transplantation of liver.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister was briefed during the meeting on a detailed presentation on the developments of the Egyptian Medical Guidelines Action Plan, where he was briefed on the steps that have been implemented, which included; (establishment of the Supreme Committee, selection and equipping of the national guidance centre, identification of priority medical specialities, holding of meetings with the competent authorities to discuss aspects of cooperation, collection of guides from all sectors of the ministry), since they have been collected over 140 guides for more than 40 specializations, as well as demonstrating his knowledge of the steps to be implemented in the next period, directing their rapid completion on schedule.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister was briefed on Egypt’s influenza and acute respiratory disease monitoring system, which included the number of infections in the period from January to November 2022, where a slight increase in the number of people infected with the virus of the flu was detected in conjunction with the start of the winter season, underlining that no monitoring of any new mutations of the virus was carried out.
Abdel Ghaffar indicated that the meeting included a discussion on the project to develop the Trauma and Emergency Center in Ismailia Governorate, according to international quality standards, so as to maximize the provision of curative and preventive services to all those who attend it. , explaining that the center connects several main roads and axes, given its strategic location on the Ismailia/Cairo Desert.
