Health Segur: Minister Olivier Véran in Dijon this Friday

The government, under pressure after the Covid-19 crisis, has promised to open several projects to improve the working conditions of carers and the care of the sick.

This consultation was called Ségur de la santé, after the avenue where the headquarters of the Ministry of Health is located in Paris.

It started on Monday 25 May. It continues this Friday May 29 at the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Dijon, with the visit of the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, to launch the regional consultation of Ségur de la santé.

After a visit to the Samu regulatory center and the hospital’s resuscitation service, he must speak with health professionals in the CHU amphitheater in the afternoon.

Arrested during a visit to the hospital, Emmanuel Macron promised to “put an end” to the “impoverishment” of nursing staff, by initiating an increase in remuneration, in addition to the bonuses announced in the face of the Covid-19 crisis.

Olivier Véran said he wanted to “review the framework for organizing working time at the hospital”, deeming it necessary to question the “shackles that prevent those who wish to work more”.

The executive has promised to put on the table discussions “the issue of skills upgrading”, to “better value all careers, all trades and develop new professional paths”.

“Our health system is not yet patient-centered enough, on its journey. It is not efficient enough in its management either,” said Olivier Véran, saying he wanted to improve its governance.

At the end of March, Emmanuel Macron had promised “a massive investment plan” at the end of the crisis. This plan, intended in particular to renew the equipment, will concern both hospitals and nursing homes, said Olivier Véran, without indicating the amount of the allocated envelope.
