The Beninese Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (ABRP) becomes the Beninese Agency for Medicines and other health products (ABMED). The members of the Board of Directors of this structure were officially installed on Tuesday October 17, 2023, during a ceremony held in the premises of the Ministry of Health.
ABMED maintains its priority mission of pharmaceutical regulation while ensuring the availability and accessibility of quality, safe and effective health products.
The Deputy Director of Cabinet of the Minister of Health, Dr Sibylle ASSAVEDO, restated on the occasion the main responsibilities of the Agency. “ABMED ensures its mission through pharmaceutical regulatory functions, namely pharmaceutical inspections, approval of health products, vigilance of health products, surveillance of the pharmaceutical market, quality control, control and the authorization of clinical trials, monitoring of the authorization and installation procedure of pharmaceutical establishments,” she declined.
