This is a first in the history of oral surgery in Benin. 23 dental surgeons are now able to serve throughout the national territory. The Government’s effort to fill the gap in this sector has paid off because this nugget of young doctors trained at the Cheick Anta Diop University in Dakar is burning with impatience to put their know-how at the service of the dental health of the populations.

At the end of their academic journey on Senegalese soil, they were received in audience on Thursday July 7, 2022 by the Minister of Health Benjamin HOUNKPATIN.

On behalf of his colleagues, the spokesperson for the Déo-gracias HOUNYETIN delegation expressed his gratitude to the Government and in particular to the Minister of Health for his constant concern and his permanent availability throughout the academic course. He did not fail to express the ardent desire of the group to bring its grain of salt to the oral medical work of the country.

During his speech, the Minister of Health explained all the steps taken by the Government to facilitate their integration. He made a point of reassuring them of his commitment to lead the process to term but also insisted on professional practice which remains the ultimate, the essential condition for any process of specialization. The authority in charge of health did not fail to urge them to hasten the process of equivalence of their diploma as well as the registration within the order of dental surgeons for an easier insertion.
