Books – Dalia Al-Dhanini:

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, revealed the truth about finding cases of monkeypox.

He confirmed that there are still no cases of monkeypox in Egypt, stressing that there is no reason to spread lies and rumours, and an announcement will be published with full transparency if any infectious case appears.

Abdel Ghaffar, in a telephone interview with the “Hazrat Al-Citizen” program presented by the journalist Sayed Ali, on the “Al-Hadath Al-Youm” screen, said on Tuesday night: The state of preparation was increased and the pressure has been screening foreign arrivals at all border crossings and airports, to avoid infected people.

He explained that cholera is an infectious disease that is spread by eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated water, and that there is great interest in this case.

He confirmed that Egypt has one of the strongest surveillance systems in the world, and smallpox is being treated with the same equipment.
