The Health Department reported today, Friday, 40 confirmed positive cases and 144 probable positives to COVID-19, figures that are made up of recent and accumulated infections, according to an agency press release.
Likewise, the agency reported two probable deaths from the virus, corresponding to a 52-year-old man from the Arecibo region and a 75-year-old man from the Caguas region.

The confirmed positive cases reported today are broken down into 13 recent cases and 27 added cases, the results of which were obtained between April 26 to May 28.
Meanwhile, of the probable cases highlighted today, 86 that are recent and 58 added that date from April 10 to May 22.

Meanwhile, the number of those hospitalized for COVID-19 added a new case to stand at 92. Similarly, the term confirmed positive case refers to infections whose results were validated by means of a molecular test. Likewise, the probable case refers to that positive result for the disease that was obtained through serological testing.
Confirmed positive cases
The total of 1,443 confirmed cases is broken down into 707 that correspond to women and 736 to men.
Regarding ages, the group of 50 to 59 years dominates with the highest number of infections with 288 cases, followed by the group of patients between 40 to 49 years (265), 30 to 39 years (237) and 20 to 29 years. (208).
The metropolitan region also occupies the first position in the distribution table of confirmed cases with 496 reported infections. The Mayagüez and Bayamón region follow in second and third position with 231 and 212 cases, respectively.
At the municipal level, only 76 of the 78 towns have confirmed cases. The only two towns with no confirmed cases are the municipality islands of Vieques and Culebra.
The municipality of San Juan dominates the table of distribution of cases with 262 confirmed positive results, followed by Guaynabo (93) and Bayamón (84).
Probable positive cases
The total of 4,093 probable cases is broken down into 2,140 that correspond to women and 1,953 to men.
As in the category of confirmed cases, the age group between 50 and 59 years dominates in the number of probable positive results with 814 cases, followed by the group between 40 and 49 years (721) and the group between 60 and 69 years (625 ).
At the regional level, the metropolitan area is the one with the highest incidence of cases with 1,061 probable positive results, followed by the region of Bayamón (818) and Caguas (628).
According to Salud, all 78 municipalities have probable positive results. Among them, San Juan dominates the distribution table with 504 cases, followed by Bayamón (243), Carolina (174) and Guaynabo (173).
