Health recalls the importance of prevention for the early detection of breast cancer in the Region of Murcia

The Minister of Health, Juan José Pedreño, today inaugurated the III Multidisciplinary Conference of the Breast Units of the Region of Murcia, where he focused on the importance of self-care to avoid disease and improve early diagnosis. “A healthy diet, regular physical activityand limiting the consumption of alcohol and tobacco are essential in prevention”, he stressed.

Pedreño stressed that in the Region of Murcia a screening aimed at women between 50 and 69 years old to help early diagnosis of the disease and better control and treatment of this pathology.

At the conference, held at the Virgen de la Arrixaca University Clinical Hospital, the protocols were updated to establish new common lines of work and care in all breast units. Furthermore, from the point of view of innovation, will address interventional radiology of the breast as a therapeutic techniqueintraoperative radiotherapy and pregnancy after breast cancer, among other aspects.
