Alerted by the mayor of Château-Chinon, the LREM deputy for Nièvre challenged the Minister of Health who thus provides for “adaptation time” before the application of the medical interim cap.
Press release from Patrice Perrot of October 22, 2021:
The law aiming to improve our health system through trust and simplification known as the Rist law, adopted last spring in Parliament, has in its article 33 a cap on the remuneration of temporary doctors. Indeed, this aims to fight against the mercenarism of certain professionals who sometimes ask for unreasonable sums to come and ensure the permanence of care in areas where doctors are lacking. This situation is not new and is unfortunately quite well known in our department. Limiting this remuneration is of course desirable but cannot be done without a period of adaptation, particularly in rural areas which would be directly affected by a sudden application. Alerted on this subject in particular by Chantal-Marie Malus, Mayor of Château-Chinon, I immediately called on Olivier Véran, Minister of Solidarity and Health, so that transitional provisions be adopted. It’s now done.
In a press release, the minister announced that the reform of the medical interim would be done more gradually. From next week, consultations will be launched in the territories in order to identify the fragile areas that use this device and support them in the implementation of this reform. Locally, this analysis will be carried out by the regional health agencies. This will make it possible to apply this necessary reform more calmly and in a prepared manner.
I salute the quick and efficient reaction of Olivier Véran, well aware of the difficulties encountered by the rural departments to ensure the continuity of care.
I will continue to be vigilant and closely monitor the application of this text alongside the elected officials concerned.
