As of Monday, August 9, access to shopping centers of more than 20,000 m² may, depending on the department, be subject to presentation of the health pass. In Auvergne, for the time being, none of the 4 departments is affected by this measure.
In Auvergne, it will not be necessary to present the health pass at the entrance of shopping centers of more than 20,000 m². This measure, left to the discretion of the prefects of each department, comes into force in certain shopping centers in France as of Monday, August 9. As for Allier and Haute-Loire, no shopping center of such an area exists in these departments. In Cantal, there is still doubt about the size of a center, but the prefecture has stated that the health pass would not be required there.
No pass in the centers of Puy-de-Dôme
In the Puy-de-Dôme, the prefecture declared that, given the stability of the health situation in the department, the health pass would not be required for the time being in large shopping centers. As a reminder, these are the following shopping malls:
- Auchan Plein Sud shopping center
- Auchan Nord shopping center
- Leclerc Le Brezet shopping center
- commercial center Nacarat
- Jaude 1 shopping center
- Leclerc La Pardieu shopping center
- Cora shopping center,
- Riom Sud shopping center
- magazine Ikea.
The compulsory presentation of the health pass at the entrance of these centers is “By reasoned decision of the representative of the State in the department, when their characteristics and the seriousness of the risks of contamination justify it and under conditions guaranteeing the access of the people to the goods and services of first necessity as well as, if necessary, that ‘means of transport’, stipulates the decree published in the official journal. If the health situation requires it, the prefects will therefore be able to review their decision. If necessary, if these shopping malls have essential shops such as food shops or pharmacies, it will still be possible to access them without a health pass.
