Faced with the epidemic rebound, with “a 40% increase in the incidence rate in one week”, Emmanuel Macron put pressure on the seniors on Tuesday evening to be injected with a booster dose, on pain of losing their health pass from December 15th.
Deactivated “6 months and 5 weeks”
Government spokesman Gabriel Attal also specified that the pass will be deactivated. in the absence of a booster dose, “6 months and 5 weeks” after the previous injection.
He also confirmed that people with comorbidities, who are also encouraged to make a recall after six months, are not affected by the deactivation of the health pass for “legal and technical reasons”.
For “people who suffer from obesity or cardiovascular disease”, the pass “knows your age but it does not know your pathologies,” he explained. “But it is very important that these people who are more fragile vis-à-vis the serious forms than the others do their vaccination booster”, added Mr. Attal.
The spokesperson also confirmed that there is no obligation for a booster dose for caregivers even if they too are encouraged to do so and that the booster campaign will be open to 50-64 year olds from the beginning of December.
