Health: Opening of 18 viral treatment clinics in the Nasal Health Hospitals

The Ministry of Health and Population announced the launch of the activities of the training course for doctors in the hospitals of the General Secretariat for Mental Health, which will last for 5 days, in preparation for the opening of virus clinics in these hospitals, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Office (UNDP).

This came under the chairmanship of Dr. Mohamed Hassani, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Public Health Initiatives, and in the presence of Dr. Heba Al-Sayed, Director of the National AIDS Control Program, Dr. Raghda Al-Gamil, Director of the Addiction Treatment Department at the General Secretariat for Mental Health, and members of the Scientific Committee of the National AIDS Program, which includes a number of Ministry of Health doctors And university professors.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the ministry, explained that the scientific training course aims to build the capabilities of doctors and update the scientific evidence for treatment and examination protocols for blood-borne viruses such as (C and B virus and AIDS), in addition to training in skills Communication and psychological support for patients with HIV / AIDS.

He pointed out that 18 clinics for treating viruses will be opened within the General Secretariat for Mental Health hospitals at the level of the governorates of the Republic during the month of October, as medical care and treatment service will be provided in these clinics for those infected with viruses transmitted through blood.

He pointed out that these clinics have been equipped with all the necessary medical equipment, including virus detectors and the necessary drugs, as treatment is dispensed to the injured inside those clinics, in order to make it easier for the patient not to go to receive treatment outside the hospital, noting the importance of providing treatment service to patients with viruses transmitted through blood, which Contributes to providing the best medical service to the Egyptian citizen, and reducing the chances of infection with these viruses, within the framework of public health concern.

Mujahid added that the training course also includes training on methods of combating virus infection, through interactive lectures that will last throughout the training days, in addition to holding tests to assess the capabilities of doctors.
