Cases of syncytial virus infection among children require avoiding mixing with other children in schools, day care centers and at home, the Ministry of Health and Population said, due to the rapid spread of the virus.
The Ministry of Health said the symptoms are fever, runny nose, diarrhea, vomiting and sore throat, and the child needs to visit a specialist doctor when symptoms appear to receive treatment and care.
The ministry stressed that preventive measures must be followed, such as washing hands, cleaning surfaces, not kissing children and ventilating rooms well.
He indicated that the incubation period of the disease varies from 4 to 6 days, and can reach two weeks, then the symptoms appear on the patient, explaining that the virus lives on surfaces for hours, noting that newborns, less than 6 months, and children suffering from immunological diseases or diseases, are the most prone to the severity of symptoms, while the symptoms of the disease continue with children from two years old to 5 years old, one to two weeks.
