Health officials report two more COVID-19 deaths in New Brunswick

FREDERICTON – New Brunswick health officials are today reporting two deaths linked to COVID-19 in the province, bringing the death toll to 116 since the start of the pandemic.

The latest deaths – in the Campbellton area – involve a person in their 60s and a person in their 40s.

Authorities are now reporting 33 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the number of active infections to 551.

There are 23 people hospitalized, including 13 in intensive care.

Health Ministry statement says after province-wide strike by CUPE members, some vaccination clinics and COVID-19 testing at assessment centers have been canceled or postponed.

Currently, 84.8% of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 92.5% are partially immune with at least one dose.
