Sangihe, North Sulawesi (ANTARA) – Dengue fever or DHF in the Sangihe Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, continues to increase, data from the Health Service in the area recorded 121 cases from January to April 2022 and two died.
“During January to April 2022, there were 121 dengue hemorrhagic fever patients in Sangihe Regency,” said Head of the Sangihe Health Service, Handry Padandaran in Tahuna, Saturday.
According to him, the transitional weather that hit Sangihe Regency has also influenced the increase in dengue fever cases, which are related to the development of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.
“The latest data specifically for April there were 15 cases of DHF that were handled in health facilities ranging from Puskesmas to hospitals,” he said.

In January there were 40 cases, in February 37 cases and in March 29 cases, while in April 15 cases were recorded at the Health Service.
“Of the 121 cases, two patients died in January 2022,” he said.
The Regional Health Office together with all staff have checked mosquito larvae to fogging to kill adult mosquitoes.
According to Handri Pasandaran, DHF mosquitoes are related to environmental cleanliness, so people are asked to clean their respective environments.
“We invite all people to clean the environment, including the 3M movement, namely closing, draining and stockpiling containers that can accelerate mosquito breeding.
The breeding of dengue mosquitoes, he said, is closely related to the environment, so people are asked to maintain cleanliness, especially water containers where mosquitoes breed.*
