DISTRICT, Jawa Pos Radar Mojokerto – The easing of Covid-19 transmission cases did not make the Health Office (Dinkes) reduce its intensity in dealing with health cases. Because, at this time, when entering the rainy season, cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) are looming over the residents.

The Head of Disease Control and Prevention (P2P) of the Mojokerto District Health Office, Dr. Langit Kresna Janitra, said that from January to October, there were 41 cases of dengue fever in his area. ”Most happened last June with a record of 11 cases. And from July to September, the cases began to decline,” he said.

He said, due to the high intensity of the rain, his party carried out fogging every day to all areas, especially sub-districts in endemic areas. Such as Sooko, Kutorejo, Jatirejo and Ngoro sub-districts.

Fumigation is an effort to suppress the number of dengue cases in the district. ”The transition from rainy season to hot weather triggers the emergence of breeding mosquitoes. The number of puddles also triggers the development of mosquitoes,” he explained.
However, the former Head of the Pacet Health Center added that every time the rainy season enters, dengue cases are predicted to increase. Therefore, it is not only through fogging. But education to the public regarding the implementation of 3M and a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) is also important to be encouraged.
”The handling of DHF certainly cannot move alone, it must be supported by the community to carry out PSN. Because the best prevention is to break the chain through the PSN,” he said. (oce / ron)
