Offenbach / Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) – Despite the nationwide highest incidence – i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days – the city of Offenbach has to withdraw its strict corona restrictions according to its own information. From Saturday on, only the rules laid down in the new Infection Protection Act will apply there. “We are currently in the process of revoking the general decree that has been in effect so far,” said a city spokeswoman for the dpa news agency on Friday.
Thereafter, from the weekend, an exit restriction only applies from 10 p.m. – and not from 9 p.m. as before. In addition, walking and jogging on your own are allowed until midnight. The city sees itself forced to take the step because, in its opinion, the federal law signed on Thursday overrides the municipal decree and Hesse has not yet given any further instructions.
Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU) wanted to announce details on the implementation of the law in Hesse after the meeting of the Corona Cabinet on Friday. According to the latest figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), Offenbach has an incidence of 299.4.
