The Ministry of Health has confirmed this Monday 79,704 new positives and 85 deaths from COVID-19.
The incidence exceeds 381 cases
The cumulative incidence of the coronavirus in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants stands at 609,38 positive cases, that is, it has risen almost 100 points since last Friday.
Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of infections in Spain has now risen to 5,535,231 and the death toll to 88,793, according to official Health statistics.
Hospital pressure
Currently, there are 7,051 patients admitted for coronavirus throughout Spain and 1,442 in the ICU. In the last 24 hours, there have been 912 Covid-19 admissions and 407 discharges.
Omicron variant in Spain
This Monday, the director of the Center for the Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies of the Ministry of Health, Fernando Simón, has warned that incidence will continue to increase in our country at least for “Two or three weeks” plus.
For its part, the World Health Organization (WHO) has also confirmed that people with the complete vaccination schedule and those who have already passed the disease can get the disease with the omicron variant.
