All computer systems in Helse Nord were down for a period on Thursday morning. This was confirmed by communications consultant Jørn Resvoll at UNN to Nordlys at 09.33.
– Red preparedness has been set and we are in a crisis meeting now, said Resvoll.
Three quarters of an hour later, at 10.15, UNN states that the error has been corrected.
– Red emergency preparedness was introduced at UNN HF this morning due to failures in ICT systems in large parts of the health region. The error has now been corrected and red emergency preparedness has ended, UNN writes in a message on its Twitter-side.
Unknown consequences
Communication consultant Cathrine Giæver in Helse Nord IKT stated the following to Nordlys at 09.38.
– There are extensive network problems in the entire enterprise group in Helse Nord. We at Helse Nord IKT have been on standby and are working hard to solve the problem.
What consequences this has had for the operation of the hospitals in Helse Nord is currently unknown.
Randi Angelsen, communications manager at Nordland Hospital, says Avisa Nordland that the data problems do not have critical consequences for the operation there.
– The status here and now is that the most important clinical systems are up and running, she says AN at 10 o’clock Thursday morning.
Do not know cause
Helse Nord’s central communication department will not answer questions, and refers to Helse Nord ICT. UNN also refers to Helse Nord ICT
– Are there indications that this may be due to a third party?
– We currently have no information about what may be the cause of the problems, Giæver replied when Nordlys spoke to her at 09.38.
