By materializing his vision, which is to contribute to the establishment of a better healthcare offer, throughout the national territory, the Head of State has enabled several hospital structures, across the country, to a new look with an improvement in the technical platforms and an increase in the reception capacity.
These include the health centers of Fougamou and Ndendé in the province of Ngounié (South), the medical centers of Mitzic and Medouneu, in the province of Woleu-Ntem (North), as well as the medical centers of Ovan and M’vaddi, in the province of Ogooué-Ivindo (north-east).
The health structures of Okondja, Akiéni and Léconi, in the respective departments of Sébé-Brikolo, Lekoni-Lekori and plateaus of the province of Haut-Ogooué (South-East), also benefited from rehabilitation.
In all these health centers, the work essentially consisted in modernizing, adjusting and enlarging the various operating theaters, as well as the delivery rooms, the consultation rooms in ophthalmology, stomatology and ENT.
Services such as emergencies, the mother-child center, medicine, outpatient consultations, hospitalizations, have also benefited from an extension. Work that has enabled these health structures to move from the status of medical center to that of departmental hospital.
Thanks to the Phase 2 Health Sector Support Project (PASS 2), which is in line with the implementation of the Transformation Acceleration Plan (PAT), President Ali Bongo Ondimba has thus contributed to the upgrading of healthcare provision in health regions with the least developed health indicators.
