Denpasar –
Many foreign tourists who contracted Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) made the Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin open his voice in response to this phenomenon.
According to Budi, Australian tourists who contracted dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) while visiting Bali should be thankful, as health facilities in Indonesia are more experienced in treating treatment of this disease.
“I said even if an Australian gets (DHF) in Indonesia, maybe he should be grateful because the hospitals (here) are more skilled at treating dengue fever,” said Budi when met at Campus UID Bali, Monday (22/4).
Budi also said that the largest public company (tbk) in Indonesia had a chief director (president director) who had dengue fever. The CEO was then sent to a hospital in Singapore. But unfortunately, he could not save his life.
“Because there is no dengue fever. The doctors do not know how to treat dengue fever. There is an art in treating dengue fever, when the plates go down, what to do, there is an art and it depends on Indonesia because there are a lot (of dengue cases) “So, the effect (treatment rate) high,” he explained.
Budi said that dengue fever is a disease that can be treated, and that the recovery rate is high, as long as it is identified as soon as possible.
“Actually, dengue fever has a low mortality rate. So, if you compare it, for example, with TB, where more than 100 thousand (people) died from TB, about 400 people were from dengue fever ,” explained Budi.
Bali Regional Secretary Asks Tourists to Treat Dengue Fever Without Dramatizing It
At the same time, the Regional Secretary of Bali (Sekda) Dewa Made Indra asked that the issue of Australian tourists catching dengue fever would not be too much of a concern.
According to him, cases of dengue fever can infect anyone. The most important thing to do is to respond quickly to dengue fever.
“To get them back to health right away and not have a wider spread of infection or infection.” So, don’t be dramatic, because again, dengue can affect anyone. Vigilance is the most important thing, we protect our environment,” he concluded.
