Health – Freiburg im Breisgau – Why the Prime Minister looks in the tube – Health

Freiburg (dpa/lsw) – Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann got an impression of the most modern medical technology at the University Hospital Freiburg. On Friday, the Greens politician viewed, among other things, a fully digital computer tomography device, a robotically supported 3D microscope and an analysis device that is said to be unique in Europe and can be used to examine brain tissue for cancer cells in just three minutes. That is a tenth of the time previously required, the hospital said.

“Only through intensive cooperation between care, research and industry can we set up the healthcare sector to be highly innovative and ensure that new findings from research reach patient care as quickly as possible,” said Kretschmann accordingly.

On his initiative, the Baden-Württemberg Healthcare Location Forum was founded in 2018 in order to better network the areas. More than 500 experts from hospitals and care facilities, research institutes and universities as well as pharmaceutical and biotech companies work together. The state is providing around 100 million euros for model projects.
