Health expands walk-in Covid vaccination to facilitate population immunization

The Ministry of Health expands the possibilities of vaccination against Covid-19 with the launch of several points without prior appointment in different parts of the Region, in order to facilitate the immunization of more population.

The Covid Monitoring Committee met this morning to analyze the last epidemiological week and, due to the slowdown in the vaccination process detected in the last week, it has been decided to enable an additional vaccination line for people registered in the Region of Murcia, Without the need for an appointment, at the three points with the highest capacity: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in Murcia / Nueva Condomina and Cartagena / La Rambla in their usual hours-, and on Wednesday morning in Lorca / Felipe VI.

The Health Minister, Juan José Pedreño, explained that given the influx of people on the coast, an additional day of vaccination without an appointment is also launched on Wednesday in Mazarrón and on Friday in San Javier, both in the morning, to those who have their habitual residence in the Region of Murcia. Throughout this week, and depending on the result and influx of these spaces, it will be valued to open additional days in other parts of the Murcian coast.

The greatest increase in the incidence rate in the last week has occurred in the 12 to 19-year-old bracket, an age that is currently in the process of being vaccinated, which is why Health calls on families to vaccinate their children and protect them from possible infection.

Another measure that is underway is that people who have had the disease are recommended the vaccine four weeks after having overcome it and not after six months as recommended until now by the National Public Health Commission.

On the other hand, the counselor appealed to everyone’s responsibility to be vaccinated and to respect the rules, especially in the festive days that are celebrated in various municipalities on the occasion of popular festivals.

Alert levels

Regarding the municipal situation, Albudeite is at Alert Level 1-Low. Abanilla, Blanca, Bullas, Fuente Álamo, Ojós and Pliego are at level 2-medium. The 38 remaining municipalities are at Alert level 3-High.

After analyzing the evolution of the pandemic and the stabilization of the figures, it has been decided to maintain the measures in force and authorized by the Courts of Justice. Thus, both in public and private spaces, the permanence in groups of people of an informal nature is limited to a maximum of 10 people, except cohabitants. Between 2 and 6 hours, this type of meeting or gathering is only allowed for people from the same coexistence group.

In hospitality, the limits to 6 people, not living together, indoors and 10 on terraces are still in force.
