Dr Jean-Jacques Mbungani began his first roaming mission in the provinces, first in Kongo central where he distributed essential drugs in the various hospitals of Kasangulu, Mbanza-Ngungu, Matadi, Boma and Muanda . At the same time, he also stepped up activities in the fight against covid-19.
The first stop on his mission in central Kongo was the city of Kasangulu where the Minister of Public Health had a brief exchange with the officials of the general hospital before proceeding to the symbolic delivery of a box of medicines.
Speaking to the medical staff and management staff found there, Dr Mbungani informed them of the efforts made by the government to respond positively, in general, to the various claims registered in the medical sector. For his part, the chief medical officer of the zone thanked the minister for his visit, but above all for the donation of medicines. A memorandum containing the concerns of his health zone will be submitted shortly to the authority.
Seizing this opportunity, the director of Kasangulu prison, present on the spot, questioned the Minister of Health on the need to provide the prison with a health structure which should also administer health care and perform covid tests. 19 on the different detainees. This concern caught the attention of the Minister of Health who promised to tackle it, once back in Kinshasa.
In this roaming mission, the Minister of Health was accompanied by the Secretary General of his ministry, the WHO representative in the DRC, the director of the National Border Hygiene Program and the Director of the National Program. of the fight against tuberculosis as well as some members of his cabinet.
