COSENZA – Outcry against the decisions of the Calabrian health commissioner, Guido Longo, contained in the decree of the commissioner ad acta n. 31, with which regional guidelines for the adoption of company deeds were issued.
The disputes concern the management of the Health Homes and, in particular, those of Praia a Mare, Cariati e Trebisacce. These three structures, in fact, are at the center of legal disputes or ministerial agreements that envisage the reopening of hospitals and not the remodeling of the Casa della Salute, as instead also envisaged by Longo.
In particular, for Praia a Mare and Trebisacce the definitive sentences ordered by the TAR and the Council of State are disregarded, while for Cariati there are the commitments undertaken in the ministerial and regional offices for the reactivation and full functioning of the hospital.
Many interventions against Longo’s provisions, to the point that in the day the parent company of Forza Italia at the Antonio De Caprio got an urgent meeting with Longo himself.
De Caprio announced that Commissioner Longo «reiterated his intention to draw up a new supplementary one to clarify the aspect concerning the health facilities of Praia a Mare and Trebisacce. The latter, affected by the recent sentence of the State Council which orders its reopening within 30 days, as happened previously for the hospital in Praia a Mare ”.
“In addition – the leader of the Azzurri to the Region continues – the extraordinary commissioner for health, assured me that in the three-year investment plan, sent to the ministry, the interventions concerning the departments and the principals themselves were included, telling me that it is only a question of time. I am cautiously optimistic, hoping that the light at the end of the tunnel will soon be visible. However, I will not stop watching, every day, so that we pass from words to deeds. We want to stand tall and have, as a right, all the assistance we need ».
The remodeling of the guidelines drawn up by Longo was also urged by the deputy of the Democratic Party, Enza Bruno Bossio: «I am really surprised by the reading of the text of the DCA that it issued on 18 February last, to indicate the Guidelines for local and hospital companies. Especially with regard to the schedules of the Health Homes, Commissioner Longo takes us back to ten years ago, when the hospitals of Praia a Mare, Trebisacce and Cariati were closed ».
According to Bruno Bossio, “the entire reprogramming process of the Casa della Salute plan is completely canceled, especially in reference to Amantea”.
Also the regional councilor Giuseppe Aieta intervened on the matter, asking the provincial health authority of Cosenza to take a position on what happened: “We also expect that the new management of the ASP first of all reopens a hospital like that of Trebisacce, a point of reference for the whole Alto Ionio Cosentino, and the birth point at the Cetraro hospital where, also in this case, the work is continuing quickly, but the appointment of a head physician is still missing – concluded Aieta.
