Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained in a statement that the autumn season is characterized by its meteorological fluctuations that permeate its days between heat during the day and cold at night, as well as waves. of weather fluctuations and rain, and these weather fluctuations lead to complications in patients with allergies and nasal sinusitis.
Abdul Ghaffar said symptoms of sinus infections intensify in the transitional seasons, particularly autumn and spring, due to daytime temperature fluctuations, as well as increased wind and dust activity, noting that the Sinus allergy patients should follow some tips to protect themselves against any complications They show some of the symptoms that indicate acute sinusitis such as thick discharge from the nose, usually yellow to green, nasal congestion or obstruction, facial pain, body temperature of 38 degrees, fatigue , cough and difficulty or inability to smell, pressure or fullness of the ear, headache.
Abdul Ghaffar gave a number of tips for sinusitis patients in the fall, including washing the nose with saline solutions or sprays to reduce secretions, get rid of irritants and allergies, drink enough water every day, apply warm compresses to the face to relieve pain, avoid nose irritants such as the consumption of cigarettes and household cleaners that produce fumes, underlining the willingness of the hospitals of the Ministry of Health and the Population to receive any cases of illness.
Abdul Ghaffar pointed out that exposure to cold outside or inside the home can lead to a variety of pathological symptoms that occur due to the inability of the body as a whole, or parts of it, to adapt to the low temperatures and cold spells that can cause multiple damage to health, so it is not necessary to warm the body and prevent the repercussions of the cold by wearing warm clothes suitable for cold or rainy conditions, and not staying outside the home in the cold, wind and rain long.
Abdel Ghaffar also urged citizens again to receive the Corona virus vaccine and booster doses to protect and reduce the infection of the Corona virus COVID, as well as the need to receive the flu vaccine in the fall, as it reduces the risk of infection. with the flu, in addition to protecting against simple respiratory infections, such as the common cold, and stressed the importance of wearing masks, because they protect against colds and Corona virus infection; They should be worn in crowded places, washing and sanitizing hands frequently.
Abdul Ghaffar stressed the need to determine when to go out in cold, rainy or stormy weather, pay attention to and follow the weather forecast, and be careful to wear multiple layers of warm clothing, as well as choose underwear that absorbs moisture. from the skin, and protect yourself from wind and water, and from constantly changing wet clothing, such as coats, gloves and socks as soon as possible.
Abdel Ghaffar said that care must be taken to eat healthy meals and drink water and fluids even before going out in cold weather, as this will help maintain the sensation of heat, as well as the importance of exercising the physical movement of the hands or feet. because this helps blood flow to the limbs and skin, keeping you feeling warm.
As for the children, “Abdul Ghaffar” stressed the need to protect them from exposure to the elements, take care of their good nutrition and warm them by wearing thick clothes made of materials that provide warmth and cover the child well during the period of sleep, adding that if children are taken out, parents must ensure that babies and toddlers are dressed appropriately and kept warm.
