The Canary Islands have confirmed until this Saturday three new positives for the Covid-19 coronavirus, bringing the number of people currently infected in the Archipelago to 18. One of the infected is hospitalized and isolated in a hospital in Tenerife. This is a symptomatic person who has had contact with Italian citizens. In Tenerife there is another case of a person whose contagion has not been established and who is under study because he has traveled and been to some massive events, but not in areas marked as risky. This person is in homeless and asymptomatic isolation.
First case in Fuerteventura
The other positive has occurred in Fuerteventura, where a person who had symptoms after returning from a trip to the risk area in Italy is in home isolation.
In addition, one of the four Italian citizens who was in home isolation in Agüimes, in Gran Canaria, has been transferred to a hospital center due to worsening of her symptoms. The others remain in home isolation with mild symptoms.
The rest of the infected are the 6 Italian citizens of the same group that stayed at the hotel in the south of Tenerife, five of whom are asymptomatic and one with symptoms. Also the four people related to the case of La Laguna, an Italian who traveled to his country and 3 of his close contacts, all of them in home isolation and without symptoms or with mild symptoms. The latter, a case in Santa Cruz, who recently traveled to Italy, remains in home isolation without presenting symptoms.
Until then three people have been discharged: the British citizen of the hotel in the south of Tenerife, the resident in La Gomera who traveled to Italy and the first case of the German citizen that occurred in La Gomera.
