Health confirms that the vaccination center of the Rafael Landívar University will stop working – Prensa Libre

The Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance reported this Thursday, September 9, that the vaccination center installed at the Rafael Landívar University headquarters (URL) will stop working in the coming days due to projects that must be carried out in that house of studies. .

According to Health, as of September 30, the vaccination center of the URL will stop serving, because general maintenance will be given to the facilities in terms of the electrical system, asphalt, checkpoints, bathrooms and security cameras.

Since the vaccination process began, this house of studies joined the efforts of the Health authorities to accelerate the immunization process in Guatemala.

“The vehicle vaccination center of the Central Campus of Guatemala City will close due to the fact that the Rafael Landívar University must carry out some projects in favor of the Landivarian community,” say authorities of the URL.

They added that from the beginning “the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS) and the Guatemalan population were supported, providing the physical space and volunteers to start up the vaccination center, one of the first that was at the service of Guatemalans. ”.

In addition, they added that “as a University we continue with our commitment to the social projection and benefit for the Guatemalan population. We appreciate the opportunity to serve the country during the vaccination process against Covid-19 and be part of the fight to overcome this pandemic ”.

The vaccination process is slow in Guatemala compared to other countries in the region; However, the Health authorities have been enabling the registration by age and the last one was for those over 18 years of age.

On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, the Guatemalan Army reported that it will vaccinate Guatemalans over 18 years of age in the posts it administers, located in the Guard of Honor, zone 10 of the capital; Campo Marte, zone 5, and Mariscal Zavala, zone 17.

People must be registered on the website of the Ministry of Health and present their identification document.
