Health confirms 470 more deaths from COVID and more than 19 thousand recent cases

The Ministry of Health detected 19 thousand 857 recent cases of COVID-19, for a cumulative of 5 million 407 thousand 711 infections, since the beginning of the epidemic.

However, authorities estimate that 80,275 (1.5%) are active cases due to presenting symptoms in recent days.

The distribution by sex in confirmed cases shows a predominance in women (51.9%). The median age overall is 39 years.

According to health authorities, 470 more people died from COVIDso there are at least 315 thousand 525 deaths recognized by the authorities.

As for vaccination, one million 29 thousand 739 doses were applied, for a total of 177 million 207 thousand 385.

The doses correspond to 85 million 003 thousand 974 immunized people, 90% of the adult population in Mexico. Of that total, 78 million 630 thousand 359 have a complete scheme, that is, 93%.

On February 28, it will be two years since the first case of COVID-19 was registered in the country. The first death was reported on March 18, 2020.
