A few days ago it was made known in networks and confirmed through The universal, that the Cartagena musician Víctor “el Nene” Del Real had tested positive for Covid-19, a condition that was being treated at home, with private medical attention and isolation.
To this day, when the disease has advanced, “the Baby” had to be admitted to the University Hospital, where he is treated in the Intermediate Care Unit due to the commitment that his lungs are showing as a result of the virus attack. It should be noted that Lili Barreto, the artist’s wife, is also infected, although she remains under strict care at her residence.
“Although my father is being very well cared for by qualified medical personnel at the University Hospital, I must clarify that the EPS to which he is affiliated, has not responded with the treatment that this contagion requires,” said Lili Del Real, daughter of the artist.
In the same way, he adds that “the Nene” began to be treated in a timely manner once the first symptoms appeared and the contagion was confirmed, with specific tests it was indicated that he had a compromise of less than 20% in his lungs, forcing him to follow the treatment with greater rigor, however this Thursday it began to decline and a new examination revealed an increase in it, leading to the decision to transfer him to the hospital.
The family has been attentive to the evolution of the disease and in the midst of private care, although it was not yet presenting respiratory difficulties, if they noticed a decrease in oxygenation, now they affirm that they have the trust placed in the medical team of the University Hospital.
With respect to his wife, the evolution has been favorable against all odds, since Lili Barreto is hypertensive, however improvement is beginning to be seen and the symptoms have already subsided considerably.
Víctor “el Nene” Del Real is one of the most prominent musicians in the local and national sphere, father of the also artist Cristian Del Real, who managed to consolidate his career from the age of three when he surprised with his masterful interpretation of the timpani.
Currently Cristian is dedicated to the classical piano and living in Bogotá has cemented his training as a concert player.
