Denpasar, LenteraEsai.id – Denpasar City Government continues to work to reduce the number of cases of dengue fever. Jumantik staff from the City Health Office are intensively carrying out fogging activities and eradicating mosquito nests (PSN). South Denpasar Health Center 3 is currently carrying out Epidemiological Investigation, PSN, Larvicidation and Counseling activities for residents conducted at Br. Dukuh Serangan, Monday (23/1)

Head of Health Center 3 South Denpasar drg. Putu Judy Satyawati revealed that the alert action that can be taken is to actively carry out PSN, Counseling and Coordination with the Head of the Environment and village officials to carry out mutual cooperation in cleaning the environment.

“We, the Puskemas, also always carry out counseling on dengue fever in banjars during posyandu, informing about the importance of PHBS in preventing dengue through social media (IG, FB, WA groups), counseling on dengue fever in buildings when patients are waiting to receive services, and educating each family member to become an independent jumantik, namely by means of 1 person in 1 house,” said Judy Satyawati.

This activity also involved Attack Jumantik Cadres and Attack Coordinators.

In addition, it can be seen that people who want to play an active role in checking larvae in their respective homes. They receive education, if there are already symptomatic family members they are advised to seek treatment immediately and have them examined at the Serangan Health Center or the nearest health facility.

“We have to increase education to the public about dengue fever and 3M+ both through social media and directly by regularly conducting mobile counseling and also educating the public directly through jumantik when monitoring larvae,” he said.

The Puskesmas and the Health Office optimize the role of larva monitors or jumantik to be more vigilant in monitoring water reservoirs that have the potential to become mosquito breeding grounds and sprinkle larvicides in these water reservoirs.

“We urge each neighborhood to always work together to keep the environment clean. If there are residents who have been diagnosed with dengue fever, we advise them to immediately report to the health center which we will follow up on in the form of home visits and inspection of larvae around a 100 meter radius,” he concluded.
