the Rose trip Senegal is a trek which aims to raise awareness against breast cancer, by helping The Pink Ribbon association, and help with schooling, through the action of the association Eco-solidarity cap.
The latter wants to build a school in the Lompoul desert.
Seventy trios
Seventy 100% female teams will take part in the Senegal Rose trip, from March 30 to April 7. Among these trios: a team from the Fougères hospital center, called the Maouez (women, in Breton).
Fanny Zanardo, occupational therapist, Céline Gossin, physiotherapist, and Paula Martinet, adapted physical activity teacher, meet every day in the rehabilitation service of the center.
“In the service, the links were welded together after a difficult period linked to the Covid” situates Fanny Zanardo. The idea of engaging together in a sporting and united challenge has germinated.
The three colleagues and friends chose the Rose trip Senegal because “its cause affects women by promoting early detection of breast cancer and prevention. And then it will help children go to school in better conditions, in the bush. “
How will the trek go? These will be days of walking and successive orienteering races. It’s up to the Fougeraises to manage their efforts well… and not to get lost! “We will be helped in our preparation by Joël Delalande, from the orienteering club of Fougères” reassure the Maouez.
The Rose trip Senegal is also an eco-responsible trek, which encourages people to strive for zero waste.
Raise funds, find materials
Another challenge: to raise funds to complete their budget, estimated at € 9,000. “The idea is to give funds to the organizing association, but also to bring material and equipment on site, in the form of donations” continues Fanny Zarando.
The Maouez began their prospecting campaign to receive financial and material support. “We were received by the BNI network of business leaders, and were also well received by the merchants of Fougères, ten of whom have already agreed to help us. The Fougères hospital center also supports us ”appreciates the trio.
How can I help?
The general public will be able to help the Maouez and their own association, the Senegalese Rose, in various ways.
A kitty is open on Hello asso.
A raffle starts this week: it is possible to buy tickets at the cafeteria of the hospital center (2 € each).
The Maouez will also be present on Sunday September 26 at the garage sale of Fougères Ouargaye, in the holiday garden, and will participate in a special pink October day, at the end of the month, at the hospital (in partnership with the League against cancer ).
