At a press conference, Health authorities confirmed 12 thousand 253 new cases, just one week after the highest record of a day, reported on December 4 with 12,127 infections.

In addition, 693 deaths from COVID-19 were confirmed, for a total of 113 thousand 19 deaths for the disease.
On this issue, authorities also warned that the trend of confirmed and suspected deaths from COVID-19 has increased 8% between weeks 47 and 48 of the epidemic.
Mexico City remains the area with the highest intensity of hospital occupancy in both general beds and beds with ventilators.
