The announcement was made by the Minister of Defense, Issoufou Katambé, during the inauguration of the completely renovated Niamey garrison hospital.
« We are in negotiations with the German Government. We asked for a referral hospital to be built for us. And thanks to the intervention of the President of the Republic, supreme chief of the armed forces, the negotiations are very advanced. The Germans have promised us to build a referral hospital, not just for Niger, but it will be a referral hospital for the sub-region.», Declared the Minister to this effect.
Issoufou Kamtambé also gave some details on the architecture of this next hospital center. “The hospital will be built according to a scalable system. There will be several modules. We will start with a first module, then a second module. And at the end of the fourth module, we will have a referral hospital that will serve the entire sub-region», He indicated.
For his part, the central director of the military health service and social action, Moussa Adam said that the preparatory work for this reference hospital is being completed.
