The agreement was signed between the Center hospitalier universitaire de La Réunion, the University of Seychelles and the Seychelles Ministry of Health.
A new path to specialization
A framework agreement for international cooperation was signed last Wednesday between the Reunion University Hospital, the Seychelles Ministry of Health and the University of Seychelles. The French Ambassador to the Seychelles signed the agreement on behalf of the French government.
The agreement has two main objectives:

First, it will offer opportunities for exchanges of teachers, students, researchers or technical and administrative staff between the two islands.

Then, it will strengthen collaboration in training and research in the field of health.

The Seychelles Minister of Health, Peggy Vidot, indicated that this agreement will open a new path to specialization for young doctors seychellois. “The ministry is aiming for an innovative program for young doctors (…) I sincerely thank France for helping us in this process.“, she added.
For several years, Seychelles and The meeting have had a good collaboration in the field of Health. Mobility of students and researchers
Dominique Mas explained that this new agreement is part of the perspective of the next French presidency of the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC). It will focus, in fact, on the health and the mobility of students and researchers.
The agreement will also allow the development of joint training programs, joint research programs between the Universities of Reunion and Seychelles, the Seychelles Ministry of Health and the Reunion University Hospital.
