Lily Ivanova poured her anger on one of the most iconic musicians in her band – guitarist Veselin Veselinov-Eco. For many years he played behind her back at all her big concerts across the country, and the primate had trusted him to such an extent that she even entrusted him with the obligation to compose new songs for her. She did not fail to mention his name in her rare television interviews and always spoke of him with admiration and respect.
However, on the eve of the Christmas holidays, there was a rift between them. Lily kicked Eco out of her band just before her three consecutive big concerts in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture and quickly replaced him with his younger colleague Boris Taslev. The reason for the scandal between the long-term partners is not clear, but the music guild commented that it was a betrayal.
The primate is proverbial with its iron principles and the fact that it does not tolerate disloyal people around it. Lily finds it difficult to trust both professionally and personally, and in order for someone to gain access to her environment, she goes through continuous “tests” for years. However, once the primate is disappointed, it becomes a persona non grata for it. The well-known Eco also did not comment publicly on the issue, Retro writes.
