The president of FC Martigues, Alain Nersessian, believes that the fire is of criminal origin.
A fire broke out overnight from Friday to Saturday at the headquarters of FC Martigues, the city’s football club, currently leader of National 1 (third French tier) and in the race for the rise in Ligue 2.
Arson?
Club president Alain Nersessian told Provence the damage would not be significant. “With the intervention of the firefighters, we managed to limit the damage, an office and a meeting room are particularly affected”.
He maintains, however, that the fire was of arson.
“There was indeed a break-in, and a voluntary firing. It is distressing and particularly disgusting”, explained Alain Nersessian, president of Fc Martigues to La Provence.
A thesis that the police present on the spot are trying to verify, indicate our colleagues. In 2018, already, the premises of the club had been ravaged by an arson.
