Nine people were injured in a head-on collision between two passenger cars on the N280 in Roermond on Tuesday evening, the Limburg police reported to NU.nl. Emergency services are on the scene en masse.
The incident took place just before 8 p.m. at the tunnel of the N280, which runs past the well-known Designer Outlet in Roermond.
One of the vehicles ended up on the wrong side of the road for an unknown reason. In addition, one of the cars involved reportedly had a British license plate 1Limburg.
The N280 is closed in both directions. Police, ambulance and fire brigade are on site to provide assistance. The Traffic Forensic Investigation team is conducting an investigation.
According to 1Limburg There are several children and one baby among the injured. Those involved were taken to area hospitals.
