Head-on collision of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X – Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition compared on different consoles

Digital Foundry has tested editions of the game for next-generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony. There are differences, but minor

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition offers several modes at once with different resolutions and performance.

In “Normal mode” (4K resolution), the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions tend to run at 60fps with minor drops, especially in staged scenes. In this mode, the Xbox Series X plays better than the PS5, but the difference is not significant.

In the frame rate-focused mode (4K dynamic resolution), the PS5 performs better than the Xbox Series X in the scenes tested. In some scenes, the PS5 significantly outperforms the Xbox Series X. According to Digital Foundry, there may be problems with the implementation of features Xbox Series X architectures.

In ray-traced mode with an emphasis on performance (1080p resolution), both systems perform equally well in the game and the performance usually does not fall below 60fps. There’s no clear winner either in ray-traced mode with an emphasis on image quality.

When it comes to loading times, neither console has a clear advantage, but the PS5 loads the game a little faster.
