A serious accident between a car and a truck occurred on the stretch between the villages of Graf Ignatievo and Trud, Plovdiv police said. The incident was reported at around 10.40am on Friday.
According to initial data, a Croatian-registered BMW drove into the oncoming lane and crashed head-on into the so-called Steyr. Three men, foreign nationals, were driving the car. A 40-year-old passenger died instantly. Another passenger – 26 years old – was injured more seriously, and medical assistance was provided to the driver, also 26 years old.
Traffic on the stretch has been restored.
