Head of the SAT supervises progress in the digitalization of procedures

Mexico City. The head of the Tax Administration Service (SAT), Antonio Martínez Dagnino, supervised the progress of the simplification and digitalization of procedures in the decentralized offices of Mexico City, in order to meet one of the commitments of the new government.

In a statement, the agency reported that since last October, the SAT issued modifications to simplify registration in the RFC, so that individuals and legal entities no longer need to pre-register on the SAT Portal prior to their appointment.

Meanwhile, for registration in the RFC and e.signature of natural persons, only the current voting credential with a visible and complete address must be presented; It is not necessary to present the CURP or proof of address.

To renew the e.signature of natural persons that has expired less than one year, only a USB memory and identification with a fingerprint are required.

The Certificate of Tax Situation (CSF) is one of the most requested procedures, only from January 1 to October 31, 2024, 6 million CSFs were issued to individuals, so, since October, it can be obtained in the SAT offices only with your fingerprint or voting credential, and from anywhere through the SAT Portal, SAT ID, SAT Mobile, One-to-One Chat and Virtual Office, the SAT reported.

From October 1 to November 6, 2024, 534,987 Tax Situation Certificates have been issued, which represents an increase of 6.0 percent compared to the immediately previous month.

The agency detailed that the digitization and simplification of procedures has had a positive impact in entities such as the state of Mexico, Mexico City, Jalisco, Veracruz and Nuevo León, where an average of 40 percent of registration and update procedures are registered. RFC, as well as generation and renewal of electronic signature.

The head of the SAT, together with the general and decentralized administrators, visited different offices in Mexico City to supervise that the new guidelines are being correctly applied and listen to the needs of taxpayers first-hand.

“In follow-up to the 2024 Master Plan, the SAT strengthens institutional coordination to increase collection and provide the best service to the taxpayer,” the agency concluded.
