Mike Blasch, Head of Music at Spotify in Germany, is leaving the music streaming company.
Pallasch announced the news today (March 18) in a post on LinkedIn and wrote that he would be leaving the role at the end of the month.
Pallasch joined Spotify in 2017 as Head of Presentation and Editing in Germany and was promoted to Head of Music in 2018.
Before joining SPOT, he was General Manager of BMG Operations in Germany, Switzerland and Austria (GSA).
After five years in December 2016, he left BMG.
Pallasch joined BMG in October 2011 as Vice President of the German Arbitrator.
His career also included positions at Sony / ATV Germany, B162, Suction Records in Toronto and Motor Music / PolyGram Germany.
Pallasch is leaving the streaming company after a year in which music streaming has spread in Germany.
According to an analysis by GfK Entertainment and BVMI, more than 139 billion music programs were created in the country in 2020.
That number was almost a third higher than 2019 (107 billion) and three quarters higher than 2018, when 79.5 billion market flows were recorded.
Sales of music recordings in Germany rose last year thanks to live broadcasts and despite the epidemic by 9% to USD 2 billion.

“It was an incredible journey. Thanks to everyone – colleagues, artists and partners – who made it so worthwhile!
“Spotify and our mission would not be possible without all of the great artists on Spotify and without our partners – brands, distributors, administrations, agencies,” he added.
Thank you for your creativity [and] hard work. It’s really inspiring. I would like to name many of you here, but that will cross the line. Number of characters allowed.
“I’m really looking forward to what’s to come. Stay tuned and get in touch with us! “Music works all over the world
