According to “Ukrainska Pravda”, Tkachenko learned about the decision of the Cabinet at a closed meeting on November 10, while in Paris at the 41st session of the General Conference of UNESCO.
“In fact, at the suggestion of the Office of the President, the Cabinet of Ministers, without the consent of the Ministry of Culture, took over the authority in the State Film Agency to form and implement policy in the field of cinema. Legally, such a body as State Film Agency cannot remain in the status of the central executive body (CSEC). He noted that Tkachenko was against the separation of the State Film Agency, in the opinion of the head of the Ministry of Culture, “this contradicts the logic of the reform” of the department.
We are talking about the transfer of operational functions to the central executive authorities – State Arts, Goskino, Gostourism (until recently), State Ethnopolitics, while the Ministry of Culture retained the function of forming policies, strategies and coordinating the activities of the Central Executive Office and the regions in the field of culture and media.
In 2019, Tkachenko was elected to the Verkhovna Rada on the list of the Servant of the People party (No. 9).
