Laschet’s confidante Liminski will represent the CDU in Cologne-Ehrenfeld

Cologne In the Rhein-Sieg district, Nathanael Liminski experienced a setback when he wanted to move into the state parliament for the CDU. The head of the Düsseldorf State Chancellery is now applying for a direct mandate in the Cologne-Ehrenfeld constituency.
The Cologne CDU party leader Bernd Petelkau confirmed the news of Liminski’s candidacy to the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”. Accordingly, the CDU politician received around 80 percent of the votes when he was put up on Tuesday evening. Liminski, a close confidant of the former Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Armin Laschet (CDU), had previously tried in vain for a direct mandate in Sankt Augustin.

In CDU circles it was said that with the list in Cologne, a place on the list for Liminiski was certain. In all probability, the CDU politician will be able to continue his political career in North Rhine-Westphalia even after the state elections. According to reports, an opposing candidate did not stand.

Liminski will have to compete with two prominent members of the state parliament in the elections in Ehrenfeld: Jochen Ott, the long-standing party leader of the Cologne SPD, and the deputy leader of the Greens in the Düsseldorf state parliament, Arndt Klocke.
