Head of National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination against the Disabled Arrested for Bus Driveway Protest

Park Gyeong-seok, the head of the National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination against the Disabled, was arrested by the police for blocking a bus in the driveway and protesting.

Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station arrested Park on charges of obstruction of business and violation of the Road Traffic Act.

Park is suspected of obstructing the operation of buses on the road in front of the Glad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul for three minutes from 2:00 pm yesterday (14th).

The police said that Park had disrupted bus operation several times and continued to cause inconvenience to citizens even though the police had given sufficient warnings and arrested him.

In response, Park argued that the Seoul Metropolitan Government promised to introduce low-floor buses, but the disabled still couldn’t ride intercity buses, so they protested, and the police were confining themselves without proper notice.

Prior to this, CEO Park and Jeon Jeon-yeon activists continued a surprise demonstration for three days from the 12th to the 14th, blocking the bus lane with slogans such as condemning Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon.
